On behalf of our customer CSC Denmark, we are looking for a Business Unit Manager – Payroll & HR Services.
About the job
As Business Unit Manager for Payroll & HR Services, you will be a vital part of the Danish management team, driving the growth of payroll services and leading a team committed to delivering best-in-class payroll solutions.
The position is based at CSC’s office in Copenhagen, and you will report to the EMEA Head of Payroll and will work closely with the Senior Client Director Global Payroll, placed in Denmark, whom you will work closely with towards the company’s clients.
The role
Your team – who also work from CSC’s office in Copenhagen – consists of five highly skilled and motivated colleagues with diverse expertise who deliver external Danish payroll administration. This is primarily with focus on international clients, often in cooperation with colleagues from other service teams in CSC Denmark.
Your area of responsibility will be wide and cover all disciplines within the operations of payroll, including management responsibilities for the team where you will lead by example and are not afraid to be hands-on. You will focus on coaching and mentoring individual team members to support personal growth.
You will act as front face for the team, advise clients on payroll-related queries and best practices and address challenges with the clients, create solutions and thus ensure happy clients.
You will also focus on ensuring quality, optimising processes and on recommending strategies to expand payroll services in Denmark. Finally, you will be collaborating with other Payroll teams across the Nordics to modernise and enhance the company’s payroll offerings.
Key responsibilities
Main responsibilities and tasks will include, but not be limited to:
- Overseeing the full scope of payroll services and associated tasks
- Managing and supporting a team of highly skilled payroll professionals in daily payroll operations
- Processing and reviewing client payrolls to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Optimising payroll processes for efficiency and effectiveness
- Advising clients on payroll-related queries and best practices
- Working towards achieving budgeted revenue targets for payroll services
- Maintaining strong relationships with payroll business partners and vendors
- Networking and exploring opportunities to expand the market for payroll services in Denmark.
Your profile
- A deep understanding of the value of a coordinating role that spans Payroll, HR, Finance, Legal and Compliance
- 6-10 years of experience in processing multi-client payrolls, ideally within a Business Process Outsourcing environment
- Relevant education or qualifications in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, HR or a related field ‒both lower and higher levels of education can be considered depending on experience
- Understanding of the Danish labour market rules and practices relevant to payroll and an ability to explain in English how a Danish pay slip is structured
- Experience with management or ready to take the next step combined with strong social skills necessary for managing teams, building client relationships and engaging with senior management
- Fluent in English and Danish
- Experience with Epos is a strong advantage, but not a requirement
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
